These plain-language terms are a general draft for professional review. They describe the current FoldCrypt offer but do not add to or replace the purchase-specific terms shown by Lemon Squeezy at checkout.

FoldCrypt Free

Lock, Open, Remove password, Change password, and the recovery-key workflow are free forever. They have no time limit and do not require payment.

FoldCrypt Pro

FoldCrypt Pro costs €19.99 as a one-time purchase for perpetual use of this version. Pro unlocks Smart Folders and includes priority updates and support. A Pro purchase does not change the availability of the free core actions.

14-day Pro trial

A 14-day trial of Pro starts on first launch. After the trial ends, Smart Folder functionality requires an activated Pro license. Lock, Open, Remove password, Change password, and recovery-key access keep working as free features.

Purchase and activation

Pro purchases are completed through Lemon Squeezy. The license key is delivered by email after purchase and activated inside the app. Purchase-specific information presented at checkout also applies. This page does not state a refund policy, activation limit, or device limit; those details must not be inferred from the pricing summary.

Back up first

Maintain a verified backup before protecting a folder. FoldCrypt does not replace backup software. If both the password and recovery key are lost, FoldCrypt cannot recover the folder.

Authorized use

Use FoldCrypt only with folders, storage devices, and computers you own or are authorized to access. Do not use it to interfere with another person's lawful access to data.

No security guarantee

AES-256 is one part of the security design, not a promise of absolute security. Malware, an already-open folder, weak passwords, lost backups, and access to the Mac can create risks outside the app's protection.

Support

Pro includes priority support, but this page does not promise a specific response time or service level. Do not send passwords, recovery keys, confidential files, or other secrets in a support request.

Optional support

A contribution made through PayPal supports independent development. It is voluntary, does not purchase a FoldCrypt license, does not unlock features, and is not presented as a tax-deductible charitable donation.
