This plain-language notice is a general draft for review. It describes the current FoldCrypt website, macOS app, purchase flow, and optional support links.

Website data

The FoldCrypt website does not include advertising trackers, marketing pixels, account creation, or a mailing-list form. The hosting provider may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp to operate and protect the service.

When enabled, the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and performance. The service measures visits and page views without setting cookies, without cross-site tracking, and without building an individual visitor profile. When the analytics token is not configured, this browser beacon is not loaded.

Folder contents

FoldCrypt operates on folders selected on the Mac. It does not require a FoldCrypt account or upload folder contents to a FoldCrypt cloud storage service. A folder selected inside a third-party synchronized location may still be processed by that third party according to its own settings.

Passwords and recovery keys

FoldCrypt does not store your password. Recovery keys are shown to the user and should be stored securely and separately from the protected folder. Do not send a password or recovery key through a support request.

Free use and Pro trial

The free core actions do not require an account or payment. A 14-day trial of Pro starts on first launch. When the trial ends, the free actions remain available; an activated license is required for Smart Folder functionality.

Pro purchases and license keys

FoldCrypt Pro purchases are completed through Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy processes the checkout and order details and emails the receipt and license key under its own terms and privacy notice. Full payment-card details are not entered on the FoldCrypt website. The license key is activated inside the app.

Support requests

If you contact support, FoldCrypt may process the information you choose to include in your message and attachments. Do not include passwords, recovery keys, confidential folder contents, or other secrets in a support request.

Optional PayPal support

The website may link to PayPal for an optional contribution. Payment details are entered and processed on PayPal, not by FoldCrypt. PayPal applies its own privacy notice and account settings.

Your choices

You can use the free core without buying Pro and stop using the website at any time. Lemon Squeezy and PayPal provide their own privacy information and controls for transactions completed on their services. This notice should be reviewed for each market where FoldCrypt is offered and updated when the product or its data flows change.
